The three C's: concise, clear, consistent, plus a new chat per topic
Google's prompting framework: persona, task, context, format. Write concisely and clearly, reuse the same terms, and start fresh chats for new topics.
Google’s beginner framework works in any chatbot. A good prompt has up to four parts: persona, task, context, format. You don’t need all four every time.
The three C’s
- Concise: avoid cramming a huge, multi-part request into one prompt.
- Clear: “Make this better” is vague. “Revise this to be more formal and add a call to action” is clear.
- Consistent: if you say “spreadsheet”, keep saying spreadsheet, not “matrix” or “tab”.
Bonus: new topic, new chat
Earlier messages stay in the context window. Starting a fresh chat when you switch topics keeps old details from muddying new answers.
